On 30 June 2023 in Dong Hoi, Vietnam, the transboundary extension of Hin Nam No to Phong Nha-Ke Bang was well placed by a panel chaired by the Deputy Governor of Khammouane Province at the 20th-anniversary celebration of Phong Nha-Ke Bang being the Natural World Heritage site.
