Women’s capacities and leadership skills in all their diversity and their equal participation in protected area

The kick-off meeting on strengthening the skills of indigenous women in the natural resource management pilot project at Hin Nam No Nation Park was hosted on the 28th of February, 2023. It was led by Mr Khounxay Phaiphanya, Vice District Governor of Boualapha district and Ms Soukkaseum Sitthideth, Deputy Head of Provincial Lao Women Union of Khammouan Province with participating from Hin Nam No Nation Park office, GIZ ProFEB, Faculty of Forestry Science, related offices from the central level, district co-management committee, and village co-management committee members. This pilot project will be implemented by the Lao Women Union of Bualapha district and expects to implement for seven months. It aims to empower women’s capacities and leadership skills in all their diversity and their equal participation in protected area management within the framework of an FPIC process in the context of international nature conservation obligations (natural world heritage, “Green List”).
